After playing ātitiā to two four-year-olds for two weeks, Iāve had the time to contemplate the world they will be raised in. Itās not pretty.
So hereās my caution for this pense. Warning: the topics today may be traumatizing. This is a serious non-sarcastic warning.

AI deepfakes have a far wider implication than just robocalls, job scams, and political ammo. Pedophiles can make deepfake images of your children. Exes can make deep fake porn of you. You can have videos of you being fake r*ped circulating the internet for all eternity.
Forget your employers seeing it. your great great grandchildren could see it.
This inhumane disconnected violation doesnāt require much effort either. Id protection services will need to start protecting more than your social security and credit card numbers. They will need to start protecting your face.
In many ways, Iād prefer for my social security number to be stolen over my face.
So whatās being done about it?
Nothing that I know of. If you do send it my way, this is something Data scientists should be volunteering to help with.
As far as laws go, it seems we will have the actors SAG-AFTRA fighting for the right to change federal intellectual property rights law. The woman I know as The Nanny who now apparently has a whole name is the president spearheading this fight.
But the law isnāt always capable of dissuading illegal activity especially if itās prosecutors are unable to find someone to sue.
In the case of sexual content, I hope this ends up following under criminal prosecution with steep sentences.
Oh and the FCC is trying to require robocallers to say itās an AI generated call. Considering I still get robocalls and I donāt know how to make them stop. Iām not hopeful. Read more here
